Testaccio is one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Rome. It was in Testaccio that so many of the typical local dishes were born. With a modern Roman architecture this place joins the ancient and the modern and will make you discover incredible things about Rome and its cuisine.
We will visit the lively Testaccio market, one of the best known in Rome. We will sample typical dishes like Amatriciana, Pollo alla Romana, Cacio e Pepe or Coda alla Vaccinara and also the famous white pizza sandwich stuffed with chicken, Arancini, bruschetta and much more.
Our visit to the traditional and charming Testaccio district includes:
- Cheese and salami sampling in a typical norcineria
- Famous pizza al taglio tasting in a typical bakery
- Arancini or suppli tasting (balls of risotto, stuffed with cheese mozzarella) at the market
